The Position

This transfer/reinstatement request is a general application which will only be viewed if the hiring manager does not wish to do an external recruitment. It is your responsibility also to apply for the permanent recruitment if it is open for applications, as search committees may not view and/or consider this request.

Transfer requests are to completed by Contract Classified SDCCD employees desiring to transfer to an identical job title at another location or department. Transfer requests will be placed on the transfer list for one year from the date of application. Refer to the CBA for more information on Transfers. You will be contacted by telephone or email if there are any questions or concerns.

Reinstatement requests for Classified Employment must be made no later than 39 months after the effective date of your separation or leave from a permanent position in the District.

Requests will be removed from the list when an assignment is accepted. Additionally, for transfer requests, it will be removed if your employment with SDCCD is terminated. It is recommended that you keep your application current to reflect any changes in working location, classification, address, or new experience or skills.

Conditions of Employment:
  • If your application indicates that you possess a college degree, you will be asked to submit official transcripts if you are selected for this position (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position).
  • Each candidate for appointment will be required to pass a pre-placement physical examination at the District’s expense.
  • All new SDCCD employees must provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment, and must renew the certificate every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment.
  • All new hires must submit proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • All new hires are required to have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at their expense.
